JAMES CHERRY
James Cherry is the Executive Director of The Griot Collective of West TN and President of the Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee. He is the author of two novels, a collection of short fiction, and four books of poetry. He has also been nominated for a handful of awards including an NAACP and a Lillian Smith Book Award. James has a masters of fine arts in creative writing and is a native Jacksonian where he is the product of its public schools and Union University.
"For me, there are three institutions that anchor downtown Jackson," Cherry said. "What would downtown be without its public library? From its meeting spaces to its technological advances to its genealogical resources to its mission of enlightenment. It is a sanctuary of erudition in every sense of the word. Secondly, is the Ned. The dazzling art exhibitions, the breathtaking plays, the innovative poetry, invigorating jazz music and its intimate setting brings culture to life every time you step through its doors. Lastly, the ComeUnity Cafe is culinary excellence with a cause. Yes. The farm to table concept is one thing, but it's what happens at the table that is truly extraordinary. On any given day you may share space with everyone from attorneys to the food insecure and everyone in between. This levels the social playing field (if there is such a thing) because for just an hour or so no one is more important than anyone else inside that space."
ANNA JONES
Anna Jones is the Marketing and Events and Catering Manager for Hub City Brewing. She books all events for Hub City, runs the marketing, and books any catering order that comes in. We're thankful for her impact on downtown Jackson!
"At first it was just a job that brought me downtown, but it was the people I work for and with, as well as the people that frequent our businesses, that kept me downtown. I love walking into work and seeing all the familiar faces enjoying our food, beer and activities! So many customers and clients have become friends over the years," Anna said.
ADAM JOHNSON
Adam Johnson is the Director of Youth and Creative Ministries at First Methodist - Downtown Jackson, TN. We are thankful for the work Adam does with youth and with the unhoused members of our community.
"Reconnecting with downtown has been nothing short of a personal renaissance for me," Adam said. "After spending time away from West Tennessee, choosing to return and anchor ourselves in Downtown Jackson has opened our eyes to the beauty that surrounds us. It's a refreshing change, allowing us to appreciate our surroundings without the distractions of busyness or barriers, and to fully embrace the vibrant community that thrives here."

Officer Tracy Long who is the downtown patrol officer. We are so thankful for his care and protection of our downtown neighbors, business owners, and community. Thank you, City of Jackson, TN - Police Department for all you do for our city!
ALEXANDRIA WILDES
Alexandria Wildes is the front-of-house manager for Jackson's Kitchen and Catering, She grew up in Jackson, moved away, and then came back five years ago. We're thankful for Alexandria's impact on the people of downtown Jackson.
"I believe that Downtown Jackson has the capability to be better than it ever has been with the help of the community and business owners being willing to create relationships, work together and utilize resources within the community," Alexandria said.

Chris Alexander is VP of HCB Development, Jackson TN, and VP of development at Healthy Community, LLC. We are thankful for Chris' impact on the Jackson Walk and its surrounding areas.
"Downtown is the heart and soul of every city. I learned very early on in my real estate career how important it is to have a thriving Downtown core. It is a direct reflection of how the City of Jackson is viewed as a whole. A thriving downtown attracts new residents and businesses, contributing to West TN's overall growth and development."
